Two tokens

People will say “the Kalyx token” and mean two different objects. This page splits them.

KALYX, the testnet unit

This is the coin the private chain accounts for. Eighteen decimals. Genesis minted 500,000,000 of them to one account. Gas on that chain is priced in this unit. The base fee is burned. The priority fee goes to the proposer. The starting base fee is 1 gwei. None of that depends on a contract address, because it is the chain’s own unit.

An inflation schedule and a hard cap are not live. Do not quote them as if the genesis contains them.

The project token on Robinhood Chain

Robinhood Chain is an Ethereum-compatible layer 2. Its chain id is 4663. Its gas token is ETH, not KALYX. A project token there is a contract, with a 0x address of 20 bytes.

When that address is published, it appears in the hero and on the token page, with a link to the Robinhood Chain explorer. Until then, the site does not invent one. The contract does not secure the Kalyx testnet, and it does not replace the testnet unit.
