The key
Validator signatures are ML-DSA-87. The public key is 2,592 bytes and the signature is 4,627 bytes. The key lives in a signer: hardware, a separate process, or a two-of-three. It is signed for fork version 0x10000038.
Validators
Proof of stake chooses the proposer. The duty is quantum-proof: ML-DSA-87. 40,000 KALYX to enter. A model may draft the block. It does not hold the signing key.

A model may decide what the next block should contain. It asks the signer. The signer can refuse. Anything the model can read, someone can try to talk it into repeating. The key is not in that set. The two genesis validators are ordinary stake. No model is signing them.
A new key deposits 40,000 KALYX. The two genesis validators were created with the chain and are ordinary stake. Every validator after them uses the same deposit. The steps are in the docs.
