Fees and issuance

KALYX is the unit. It has 18 decimals. The node does not store the word. It stores an integer. One KALYX is 1018 of that integer. The name is a display choice. Changing the name did not mint a new coin and did not need a new genesis.

What the fee actually does

The execution rule is the one people know from after London. Each block has a base fee. That base fee is burned. A sender can add a priority fee, and that tip goes to the proposer. On this genesis the starting base fee is 1 gwei. The burned amount on a block is the gas used times the base fee. The tip is separate.

What is not a field

A hard cap is not live. An inflation rate that starts at 8 percent and steps down 15 percent a year toward a 1.5 percent floor is not live. A rule that burns half the fee and pays the proposer the other half is not live. Those are ideas that have been written about. They are not what this genesis does.

Genesis minted 500,000,000 KALYX to one account. Issuance after that follows the beacon’s own reward rule, not a brochure schedule. The token page keeps the testnet unit separate from the Robinhood Chain project token.
