Faucet

The faucet pays test coins to a KAL address so you can try a transfer. The coins are not money. The account that pays is public: KAL8A67356081269d6969558DdDd454EBC8b4395c0B. The page shows how much that account still holds.

The two buttons

  • Test coins. 10 KALYX. One address can take this once every 24 hours.
  • The validator amount. 40,010 KALYX. One address can take this once, ever. It is sized as 40,000 for a deposit plus a little for the fee. It arrives in the spending account. It does not create a validator key, and it does not put you in the set.

The faucet also stops after 50 claims in a day, across everyone. If the paying account runs out, the page says the faucet is empty. That is a balance, not a hidden ban.

The person check

A claim asks for a person check before the faucet will sign. Reads do not. The check is there so one script cannot empty the account. The secret for that check stays on the server. It is not part of the page, and it is not something you paste anywhere.

What to do with the coins

Open the wallet, copy your KAL address, and claim to that address. Then send a small transfer to another address you control, so you can see the fee burn and the leaf rule in action.

Becoming a validator is a different afternoon. You still need your own node, an ML-DSA-87 key for fork version 0x10000038, and a deposit the beacon accepts. The validator page is that path. The faucet cannot walk it for you.
